Job summary

S3 Group Ltd. is seeking a skilled machinist to operate lathe and mill, fabricate custom parts, and support maintenance projects across North America. You will read blueprints, measure with calipers and micrometers, and write basic programs to sustain production timelines.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or equivalent is required.
• Saskatchewan journeyperson machinist certificate or equivalent.
• 1 year accumulated manual/CNC machine shop experience.
• Able to read calipers, micrometers, protractors and tape measures.
• Capable of taking accurate measurements and recording data.
• Strong math skills including fractions, decimals and metric system.
• Familiarity with basic tools and mechanical inclination.
• Physically able to meet job demands and read/write proficiently.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering specs.

Responsibilities

• Operate lathe and mill to manufacture custom or maintenance parts.
• Measure and inspect specifications using calipers, micrometers, and vernier tools.
• Verify accuracy against blueprints and specifications.
• Write basic programs for custom product lines.
• Ensure timely machining to meet production requirements.

Requirements

• Capable of accurately reading calipers, micrometers, protractors and tape measures
• Take accurate measurements and data recording
• Mathematical skills to include fractions, decimals and metric system
• Familiarity with basic tools and mechanically inclined
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
• Adequate reading and writing skills
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, engineering plans, work orders, and specifications

Workplace Responsibilities

• Operate lathe and mill to manufacture custom or maintenance parts.

• Check accuracy of work against blueprints and specifications
• Write basic programs for custom product lines
• Ensure parts are machined in a timely manner to meet production requirements
