As part of our continued expansion, Vitacore is launching a new Ontario facility and is seeking a skilled Machine Technician to play a key role in building and maintaining this operation from the ground up.

About the Role:

Vitacore Industries is seeking an experienced Machine Technician to support the setup, maintenance, and ongoing operation of equipment at our new Ontario facility in Dorchester. This is an all‑encompassing technical role. The successful candidate will be involved in equipment installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, facility improvements, and ongoing operational support.

This is not a narrowly defined maintenance position; it is a foundational hire for a new location. The right candidate must be comfortable working independently, solving problems in real time, and helping establish technical standards and workflows from the beginning.

The successful candidate will be someone who can hit the ground running, is mechanically strong and confident troubleshooting independently, and who takes ownership of equipment performance and facility upkeep. They will be proactive and solutions driven, comfortable working in a developing, early‑stage environment, they will have a strong safety mindset and be able to adapt to new challenges.

Responsibilities include:
Equipment Setup & Installation:
  • Assist in the setup and commissioning of production and operations equipment.
  • Support installation, layout adjustments, and equipment modifications.
  • Work with contractors and suppliers during equipment setup as required.
Preventative Maintenance & Repairs:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery and facility equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical and technical issues efficiently.
  • Perform repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Escalate major equipment issues when necessary.
Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement:
  • Work closely with operations to resolve equipment performance issues.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Support re‑engineering or improvement of equipment and workflows.
  • Recommend technical improvements to enhance efficiency and safety.
Facility Support:
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
  • Ensure all work complies with Ontario health and safety regulations.
  • Support facility upgrades and general operational improvements.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2‑5 years of technical or mechanical experience in manufacturing, recycling, or industrial environments.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability.
  • Experience with equipment installation and commissioning is an asset.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems.
  • Basic electrical or PLC exposure is an asset.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety practices.
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced and evolving environment.
  • Forklift experience is an asset.
  • Plastics extrusion or recycling experience is considered a strong asset.
