Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace in Oakville, Ontario, is seeking a skilled Machine Shop Technician - Boring Mill for weekend day shifts. You will produce aircraft parts to drawing while using CNC set-ups and tools, reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor. The role is onsite in our Oakville facility.

You will operate and adjust 5 axis capable machines, read blueprints, and ensure QC through OSV and measuring equipment usage, contributing to continuous improvement in the cell.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and a minimum of 3 years of current Boring Mill machining experience and/or 5 Axis Machining experience.
• Experience utilizing measuring equipment in support of quality requirements.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Perform own manual set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).
• Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self-inspection (OSV).
• Document actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets (PDS) as required.
• Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
• Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Location: Oakville Facility, Ontario - CanadaShift Hours - Weekday Afternoon (Monday-Thursday) 4:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m.

The salary range for this role is 61,334 CAD - 97,190 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
