Job summary

Pursuit at the Columbia Icefield in Jasper National Park seeks an Equipment Operator for an on-site, full-time seasonal role. You will operate heavy equipment, perform pre-trip inspections, and help maintain the glacier road to welcome guests.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ experience operating heavy equipment.
• 1–2 years grader experience.
• 1–2 years bulldozer experience.
• Class 1 driver’s license an asset.
• Ability to work outdoors in mountain weather.
• Team-oriented, safety-conscious and reliable.
• Positive attitude with problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and perform daily pre-trip inspections.
• Prepare, grade and maintain the Ice Explorer glacier road daily.
• Assist in snow clearing and equipment movement as needed.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment (greasing).
• Maintain a clean work area and support colleagues.
• Act as coach and SME for roadways and road maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Based at the remote Columbia Icefield in Jasper National Park, this on-site living role places you 100 km from Jasper and surrounded by stunning glacier views and endless mountain adventure.

• Housing & Meals are included as a taxable benefit.
• The starting wage for this role ranges $28.00 - $32.00/hour.
• This is a full-time seasonal role beginning June 2026.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety 1st! Ensure to follow adequate and proper safety procedures when performing any duties Prepare, grade and maintain the Ice Explorer glacier road daily prior to tour commencing Assist in snow clearing when needed Equipment movement when needed Complete pre-trip inspections and appropriate paperwork for each machine every day Perform basic preventative maintenance on the equipment (greasing) Maintain a clean and tidy work area and assist with cleaning duties in working environment Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease downtime and improve processed Support colleagues and co‑workers in their duties. Act as a coach and subject matter expert when it comes to everything roadways and road maintenance Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Equipment Operator ticket preferred (accumulated experience will be considered) 3-years’ experience operating heavy equipment including; 1-2 years grader 1-2 years bulldozer Class 1 driver’s license an asset Ability to think outside the box with a positive attitude, and problem‑solving skills Mature, energetic, dependable and self‑motivated Enjoy working with a team in a busy, fast-paced environment Must enjoy working outdoors, even in challenging mountain weather conditions Comfortable working in an outdoor environment. Be prepared for all types of weather (Snow, Rain, Wind, Hail) at all times. The weather changes quickly at the Columbia Icefield Must adhere to the Company’s Drug and Alcohol policy Standard First‑Aid or higher an asset
