Job summary

Carpenter Canada Co. is seeking a Machine Operator for the 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm shift in Calgary, Alberta. You will safely operate manufacturing equipment, follow the daily schedule, and maintain SAP records to ensure timely production and quality standards.

Responsibilities include pre-use inspections, quality checks, labeling, and basic equipment maintenance, with a focus on continuous improvement and teamwork in a busy plant environment.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Able to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Prior manufacturing experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-use inspection of production equipment.
• Follow work instructions and production schedule.
• Operate equipment safely.
• Maintain records in SAP.
• Conduct quality checks to meet customer specifications.
• Print stock shipping labels or enter production data into SAP.
• Ensure finished products are labelled correctly.
• Operate heat bond iron to seal packaging material.
• Perform basic maintenance of the equipment.
• Keep work area clean and orderly by disposing of waste.
• Assist with routine maintenance on machinery.
• Apply Kaizen principles of continuous improvement.

Carpenter Canada Co. has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator - 2nd shift (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm) at our Calgary manufacturing plant.

This position is responsible for the safe operation of assigned equipment or machine used in manufacturing of components and/or finished products for internal and external customers as defined by a daily production schedule.

The Additional Responsibilities As Machine Operator Will Include

• Conduct pre use inspection of the assigned production equipment
• Follow work instruction and production schedule
• Operate assigned equipment safely
• Maintain relevant records in the SAP system
• Conducts quality checks as required to meet customer's specification
• Print stock shipping labels or enter production figures into SAP
• Ensure all finished products are labelled correctly
• Operate heat bond iron to seal packaging material
• Perform basic maintenance of the equipment as required
• Perform housekeeping on equipment and surrounding work area.
• Help perform routine simple maintenance on machinery
• Ensure work area is clean and orderly by disposing of departmental waste.
• Practice Kaizen principles of continuous improvement
