Level 2 GSL – Outfeed Operator Roles and Responsibilities
Job Description:
Grodan – Outfeed Operator maintains an efficient, clean, and safe workplace
without jeopardizing production or the environment.
Reports to: Grodan Supervisor
Direct Report: N/A
Shift/Day: Shift
Job Purpose:
Grodan – Packaging Operator is responsible to run the line in a safe, clean efficient
manner while ensuring all products meet quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
Safety
Grodan – Outfeed Operator must be familiar with the potential dangers involved in
his/her job and take the appropriate safety measures. He/she must always wear all
required PPE. The job involves working with and around mechanical, pneumatic,
hydraulic, gravitational, and electrical energy. He/she must have a complete
understanding of the lock out procedure and where lock outs are required in his/her
area.
Environment
Grodan– Outfeed Operator works together with production and maintenance to
ensure that production equipment is performing at highest efficiency levels to
minimize the environmental impact.
Quality
Grodan – Outfeed Operator works with the quality department and maintenance to
ensure that all quality requirements meet or exceed specifications. He/she ensures
that all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained according to standards, so
production can be performed with high quality results.
Operation
Set-up/adjust all equipment pre-stacker to pallet wrapper including
conveyor systems
Monitor line to ensure continuous flow
Clean line from pre-stacker to pallet wrapper during planned and
unplanned stops
Communicate with PMO and maintenance equipment failures or odd
noises immediately
Keep PMO informed if the line is not running for more than 15 minutes or
when repeated stoppages occur
Ensure line is set-up for 2 hrs. into the next shift
Train back-up operators as required
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables - continued:
Operation
Coordinate/Assist with changeovers to ensure carboard/pallets and labels
are changed in less than 25 minutes
Assist with foil changes as required
Ensure line is always clean from the laser to the pallet wrapper
Willing to have flexible break times if called upon to keep the factory
producing
Ensure pallets are always available on the line
Efficiently clear jam-ups in pre-stacker
Continuously monitor/remove and communicate poor seals
Visually inspect finished pallets to ensure pallet is full
Visually inspect packaging quality
Ensure correct labels are applied
Ensure labels are being applied straight and within 2 inches of top/side of
every pallet
Ensure retrieval code is printed on slabs clear and legible.
Ensure Band-all roll changes are completed efficiently
Any other tasks as necessary or designated.
Cleaning
Maintain clean and tidy work areas from the Pre-stacker to Pallet wrapper
Clean up your job area after a task has been completed or before you
leave the job
Ensure tools and equipment are placed in designated areas when tasks
are completed
Ensure all tools are returned to the shadow board after every task
Ensure flap bin is emptied before end of every shift
Assist PMO as requested to maintain the work area cleaned and
organized throughout the shift
Documentation
Register issues on Sticky Notes according to ROPEX policies and
assure these are communicated thru the available Machine Boards.
Complete all changeover documentation to ensure smooth changeover

Basic Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential
functions of this job. The job is physically demanding at times. It does
require good manual dexterity, good eyesight, and good mobility. The
position requires a high level of concentration.
Must be capable of performing the following with effective results and
without personal injury:
The ability to lift 50 pounds
The ability to lift 100 pounds with another person
The ability to shovel heavy waste to shoulder height
The ability to work in non-climate-controlled conditions for 8-12
hours daily
The ability to use sharp objects in a safe manner
Ability to wear protective + safety equipment
Communication and Working Relationships
The PMO - PMO reports directly to the Grodan Production Supervisor.
This position has no direct reports. He/she works closely together with:
Maintenance
Warehouse
Yard
Production
Quality
The PMO works closely with the Grodan Production Supervisor and gives
instructions or directions to Grodan General Operators
Other requirements
