Qualifications

  • Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using machinery.

  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • Forklift certification is an asset or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Coil and strip handling and setup during production.
  • Join coils to maintain continuous production flow.
  • Assist machine operators with daily setup and operation.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and monitor performance.
  • Inspect materials and finished products for defects.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and cleaning.
  • Follow safety protocols and report hazards immediately.
  • Maintain production logs and record downtime as needed.
  • Support inventory tracking to ensure continuous supply.

Machine Operator
to join our team.

As a member of the Manufacturing team, the
Machine Operatorwill join us in supporting our growing business by helping ensure that our manufacturing lines run without error. The Machine Operator will provide support to the Production Supervisor for the commercial line at our plant located in Milton, ON. Don't miss this opportunity to have a great 4 day work week schedule (3 day weekend!).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coil and Strip Handling:
    • Change coils and strips as required during production, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal downtime.
    • Ensure proper alignment and secure attachment of coils to avoid damage or production delays.
  • Coil Joining:
    • Join coils to maintain continuous production flow.
    • Follow specific procedures for joining coils safely and efficiently, minimizing material waste.
  • Machine Assistance:
    • Work closely with the other machine operators to complete daily machine setup and operation.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine problems.
    • Monitor machine performance to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.
  • Quality Control Support:
    • Inspect materials and finished products for defects or inconsistencies.
    • Ensure all materials used meet production quality standards and report any deviations.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of machines and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
    • Report any major equipment issues to the Plant Manager.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Follow all safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
    • Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to the supervisor or team lead.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate logs of production activities, material usage, and downtime as needed.
  • Assist with tracking inventory and materials to ensure continuous supply for operations

  • Mechanical aptitude and hands‑on experience with machinery or equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality.
  • Ability to follow instructions, read technical manuals, and perform simple troubleshooting.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials as needed.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and workplace standards.
  • Valid forklift certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain.
