Job description

The Machine Operator is responsible for the set-up, operation, and shutdown of the ISO production line. Operators are also responsible for the operation of the automated pallet production equipment.

Duties and responsibilities

• Ensure raw materials are fed properly, operate machinery, resolve line stoppages, clear equipment jams, ensure the quality of the finished product, and prepare the product for shipment.
• Complete health and safety pre-start checklists.
• Ensure produced products meet established quality specifications.
• Document quality checks at regular intervals.
• Operate manufacturing equipment following all safe work procedures outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Record production numbers and document causes of downtime.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
• Maintain the 5S program in the work area through housekeeping and cleaning.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work effectively within a manufacturing team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Forklift Operator License is required.
• Mechanical aptitude with willingness to learn and be trained on new processes.
• Ability to take initiative and follow directions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Reliable, with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.

Hours of Work

• Rotating two-week schedule:
• Week 1 & 2 – Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• Week 3 & 4 – Tuesday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• 40-hour workweek with long weekends.
