Job summary

Linamar Corporation in Guelph, Ontario is seeking a production machine operator to operate and maintain various production machines, monitor performance, and conduct quality checks.

You will follow safety standards, read blueprints, adjust settings, perform PM/TPM, document outputs, and contribute to lean improvements in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in machine operation is an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work orders, and blueprints is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude with basic troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform accurate quality checks.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Perform regular quality checks on products to ensure tolerances and quality requirements.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
  • Make adjustments to machine settings and controls when necessary to maintain product quality and production flow.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance (PM), total productive maintenance (TPM), and cleaning of equipment to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Report any safety concerns, equipment malfunctions or production issues to the Production Supervisor or designate promptly.
  • Document production data and maintain accurate records of machine output and performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and assist with troubleshooting and resolving production issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process enhancements and equipment optimization via lean suggestions.
