Job summary

Forum Energy Technologies seeks a Machine Operator to fabricate wire wrapped screens using semi-automatic and CNC machinery at our Calgary, AB facility. You will follow drawings, procedures and forms, perform quality checks, and complete documentation accurately.

The role involves identifying tools/materials and operating a forklift and overhead crane as needed. Shifts may vary with overtime based on plant activity.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or GED; additional education is a plus.
• Excellent reading of manufacturing drawings, shop order forms and weld procedures.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work safely.
• Capable of using small and power hand tools.
• Comfortable with maintaining paperwork and quality checks.
• Able to read precision measuring equipment.
• Experience with forklift and crane training is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Interpret manufacturing drawings and work orders to set up wrap processes.
• Identify tools and materials according to the work order.
• Configure machinery to meet procedures and quality requirements.
• Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with work orders.
• Complete paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Record material usage and calculate quantities.
• Read and use precision measuring equipment.
• Assist with unloading shipments and receiving goods.
• Maintain tools and machinery in good working order.
• Assist with shop cleaning and preventative maintenance.
• Follow HSE and quality policies and maintain housekeeping.
• Participate in safety meetings and training.
• Lift and carry up to 45 lbs; heavier lifts with assistance; use forklift/hoist.
• Participate in Forum Energy Technologies Health, Safety and Environment program.
• Perform other duties as required.

This position requires identifying and the use of tools and materials, as well as forklift and overhead crane use. Shifts may involve various shifts and overtime hours depending on the scope of work and plant activity. This position will be based out of one of our facilities in Calgary, AB.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Excellent understanding of manufacturing drawings, shop order forms and weld procedures as they relate to wrapping.
• Identify tools and materials as per work order.
• Configure machinery to produce quality results as per procedures and quality requirements.
• Perform quality control checks to ensure the product follows work order requirements.
• Clearly and legibly complete paperwork as necessary.
• Record and calculate material usage.
• Able to read precision measuring equipment.
• Unload shipments, weigh and receive goods when required.
• Ensure tools and machinery are in good working order and maintained.
• Required to undertake shop cleaning and regular preventative equipment maintenance.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures including but not limited to HSE and quality.
• Always maintain good housekeeping practices.
• Participate in training and safety meetings as required.Lift and carry materials weighing up to 45 lbs., lift items weighing more than 45 lbs. with assistance from other workers, forklift and/or overhead hoist.
• Active participation in FET’s Health, Safety and Environment program.
• Other duties as required.

Skills/Knowledge
