Job summary

Stream-Flo Industries Ltd. is seeking a Machine Maintenance Technician in Edmonton to maintain machines per OEM specs and sustain operating requirements. You will perform routine maintenance, clean and repair equipment, and maintain records using the FIIX system.

The role requires 1–2 years of related maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and strong mechanical aptitude. Knowledge of CNC, MS Office, and ability to work at heights with respirator may be assets.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1 to 2 years of related machine maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with machinery knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with CNC equipment is a strong asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); knowledge of maintenance software FIIX is an asset.
  • Strong communication, time management and organizational skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Ability to operate a forklift is an asset.
  • Able to work at heights and wear a respirator as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance in accordance with OEM requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment including chip bins, lubrication, fluid levels and coolant concentration.
  • Focus on equipment operation and provide best-practice solutions.
  • Clean, align, repair machines; change oil, clean tanks/filters; clean heat exchangers and fans; inspect/reassemble chucks.
  • Maintain, repair, and adjust metal belt chip conveyors.
  • Maintain organized records using maintenance software (FIIX).
  • Collect and record data to inform repair, overhaul, or replacement decisions.
  • Review maintenance reports to identify electrical/mechanical issues and take corrective action.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment policies and maintain clean work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Job description

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Machine Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining machines and sustaining operating requirements.

Key Position Functions:
  • Perform all assigned activities and maintenance in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment, such as:
    • Empty and clean chip bins daily;
    • Ensure machine lubrication;
    • Maintain fluid levels; and
    • Monitor coolant concentration.
  • Focus on equipment operation and offer solutions for best practices.
  • Specific functions may include (but are not limited to):
    • Clean, align, and repair machines as necessary;
    • Change oil, clean tanks and strainers, and change filters;
    • Clean heat exchangers, cooling fans, motor fans, and misting systems;
    • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and reassemble both manual and hydraulic chucks; and
    • Maintain, repair, and adjust metal belt chip conveyors.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all maintenance performed using maintenance software system (FIIX).
  • Assist with collecting and recording meaningful data relevant to the history of all equipment in order to make informed decisions about repair, overhaul, or replacement.
  • Review and analyze maintenance reports to identify persistent electrical and mechanical areas of concern.
  • Take corrective action to maximize efficiency and minimize down time.
  • Ensure compliance with the Stream-Flo Guiding Principles by adhering to all Health, Safety, Quality, and Environment regulations and policies.
  • Maintain work area to an acceptable Stream-Flo standard of cleanliness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following:
  • High School Diploma.
  • 1 to 2 years of related machine maintenance experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude (with machinery knowledge preferred).
  • Experience with CNC equipment a strong asset.
  • Computer proficiency using MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel); knowledge of maintenance software FIIX an asset.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), time management and organizational skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Ability to operate a forklift an asset.
  • Able to work at heights (e.g. boom or scissor lift).
  • Willing to wear a respirator as required.
