About The Team

We are integrating machine learning into Workday’s core products, focusing on scalable features and capabilities. Our Illuminate platform leverages vast datasets to unlock new productivity levels through AI, assisting employees, and transforming business processes.

About The Role

As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will develop ML-powered services including Information Retrieval, Recommendations, and Agentic AI platforms. Responsibilities include developing user experiences with LLMs, Knowledge Graphs, and predictive analysis; collaborating on ML solutions; managing ML models lifecycle; and deploying APIs/microservices using Docker/Kubernetes.

About You

You should have a passion for quality, security, and continuous improvement, with a product mindset and strong ownership. Curiosity, teamwork, and the ability to challenge practices are essential.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and implement advanced ML models that deliver user value.
2. Apply techniques including LLMs, knowledge graphs, deep learning, and NLP to large HR and Finance datasets.
3. Ensure performance and scalability of your products.
4. Stay updated on NLP research and integrate new techniques.

Basic Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in engineering, CS, physics, math, or related fields.
2. 3+ years experience in information retrieval or recommendation systems.
3. Experience in developing production ML models, data processing, and deployment.
4. Experience with large language models, text generation, and graph neural networks.
5. Proficiency with ML frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, Sklearn.
6. Experience with data engineering tools like Pandas, PySpark, Kubernetes, Docker.
7. Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
8. Strong understanding of statistical analysis and NLP techniques.

Other Qualifications

• Exposure to reinforcement learning and GNNs.
• Strong communication skills, team collaboration, mentorship ability.
• Relevant PhD or research publications are a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary ranges from $122,400 to $183,600 CAD, with potential bonuses and stock grants. Compensation varies based on location, experience, and skills.

Work Flexibility

Our flexible work approach combines in-office and remote work, with at least 50% in the office each quarter. We support creating schedules that meet personal and business needs.
