Helijet is currently looking for a Transport Canada Licensed M2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our team. You will primarily be based out of our headquarters located at 5911 Airport Road South in Richmond, B.C., but will be required to work out of all Helijet service locations across British Columbia.
This is a permanent, full-time position, based on 40 hours per week. Further information respecting the position can be found below.
Position
As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, testing and inspection of Helijet’s rotary-wing aircrafts. Duties will include the following:
- Performing routine and scheduled maintenance of aircraft structures, mechanical components and related aeronautical products.
- Troubleshooting defects, completing repairs, replacements, modifications, and/or overhauls.
- Removing and tagging defective components and installing new components that are correctly identified and have release certification or equivalent.
- Overseeing work completed by non-licensed engineers to ensure maintenance tasks are completed as per company protocols.
- Inspecting aircrafts to ensure they meet Canadian aviation regulations, safety standards, and company requirements, and when required, removing aircrafts from service.
- Ensuring any defects (as reported by flight crew and/or entered into Journey Log) are investigated and corrective action taken.
- Performing daily inspections of workspace and equipment and reporting unserviceable equipment to the Chief Engineer or on shift Crew Chief.
- Completing and certifying Aircraft Logbooks, Aircraft Weight and Balance reports, and other applicable technical records.
- Maintaining accurate records in accordance with Transport Canada and company requirements.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements:
- Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
- Valid M2 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence issued by Transport Canada.
- Successful completion of a Transport Canada approved type training program for the Sikorsky S-76.
- At least two (2) years of hands-on experience as an aircraft maintenance engineer on the Sikorsky S-76.
- At least one (1) year of experience as an aircraft maintenance engineer on the Airbus AS350/H125.
- Valid driver’s licence and able to drive company vehicle between the Vancouver Airport Terminal and Vancouver Harbour Heliport.
- Great problem solver.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Flexible with an ability to adapt to change.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Team player who is able to work effectively and productively with others.
- Able to communicate in English.
- Willing and able to work out of Helijet’s various locations across British Columbia.
- Willing and able to work all shifts, including the night shift (Helijet provides 24/7 operations, with a 4-week averaging permit in place).
- Must have own tools.
- Bondable and able to pass criminal record and security checks.
Compensation
We offer a generous compensation package, which includes:
- Salary range: $78,000 to $102,000 per annum, based on 40 hours of work per week.
- Overtime: $73.56 per hour (4-week averaging permit in place, with overtime after 160 hours).
- Night Shift Premium: an additional $3.00 per hour between 8pm and 6am.
- Vacation: 10 paid days per year.
- Personal Leave Days: 5 days total 3 paid.
- Medical Leave Days: up to 10 paid days per calendar year.

- Other: Eligible for incremental salary increases in accordance with standard company policies.
