Job description

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Permanent)

Vancouver, BC

Expected Salary: $67,259 to $125,000

Additionally, an extensive compensation package is provided.

Babcock International works with customers around the world to improve the capability, reliability, and availability of their most critical assets within the key market sectors of Marine, Land, Aviation, and Nuclear.

In Canada, Babcock works in the Marine sector, providing critical support to Canada’s submarine fleet and ensuring that aircrew trainees receive the world’s best flying training. We also deliver vital aerial emergency services.

Babcock is looking to expand its Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) to include AW169 maintenance functions. We are currently recruiting for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) to be based in one of four new operating bases in British Columbia (Vancouver, Kamloops, Prince Rupert, and Prince George). All AMEs will report to the Crew Chief for the completion of the maintenance and repair tasks assigned to them.

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain, adjust, modify, test, diagnose, and repair AW169 aircraft.
  • Create and complete task cards and work packs in WinAir.
  • Work with specialized aviation and power tools, computers, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Keep timely and accurate records of repair and maintenance activities.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment for tasks/jobs.
  • Maintain a clean and productive work area.
  • Conduct aircraft cleaning duties of interior and exterior.
  • Work efficiently alone and as part of a team.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Utilize the Company reporting system for hazards, incidents, or accidents.
  • Enter labour in the labour tracking system accurately for all tasks performed.
  • Perform work in accordance with all Transport Canada guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate:

  • Must hold a valid Transport Canada M1 and/or M2 AME license.
  • Have experience working on a rotary-wing asset, ideally on AW-Family aircraft.
  • Have demonstrated experience working on WinAir or similar maintenance programs.
  • Have good organizational skills.
  • Be proficient in English, written and spoken.
  • Have the physical ability to sit or crouch for extended periods.
  • Have the physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods.
  • Have physical dexterity for working in confined spaces.
  • Be willing to undertake shift work.
  • Be comfortable working at heights.
  • Be eligible for an Airport Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC).
  • Have the right to work in Canada and/or have or can obtain a Canadian passport.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.
