M&E Coordinator

Job summary

EllisDon is seeking an M&E Coordinator to coordinate mechanical & electrical scopes, manage on-site activities, and ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications and codes on our Edmonton projects.

You will support project managers, develop M&E schedules, manage RFIs and shop drawings, and maintain proactive communication with M&E trades to meet milestones and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of mechanical and electrical construction experience.
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering systems, principles and practices.
• Ability to proactively identify and document problems/conflicts and resolve them effectively.
• Construction/engineering related degree or diploma.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Mechanical & Electrical Scopes to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings and codes.
• Plan, direct and coordinate all on-site mechanical & electrical activities to comply with specs and codes.
• Coordinate relevant drawings and information to prevent interference issues.
• Provide direction during functional testing of all mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in updating schedules and handling RFIs and shop drawings; administer completion requirements.
• Develop an M&E schedule for trades, track installation dates and milestone dates.
• Develop M&E construction and commissioning schedules.
• Coordinate Design/Build Mechanical Scope (Project Specific).
• Maintain ongoing communication with M&E sub-trades and ensure deliverables stay on track.
• Help develop M&E Scope of Work/ Tender Packages by reviewing specs, drawings, estimates and Subcontractor contracts.

You As a M&E Coordinator Will

• Coordination of Mechanical & Electrical Scopes to ensure they comply with specifications, drawings and codes
• Plan, direct and coordinate all on-site mechanical & electrical activities to comply with specifications, requirements and codes
• Coordinate all relevant drawings and information to eliminate interference problems
• Provide direction during functional performance testing of all mechanical and electrical systems
• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in updating and achieving schedule requirements, mechanical and electrical RFI’s and shop drawings and administrate mechanical/electrical project completion requirements
• Assist and generate an M&E schedule for trades outlining submissions, delivery, installation and inspection dates; coordinate with project schedule Track installation in the field and relate to upcoming milestone dates on schedule, be proactive in identifying tasks that may go past completion dates shown on schedule.
• M&E Construction and Commissioning Schedule Development
• Coordination of the Design/Build Mechanical Scope (Project Specific)
• Maintain constant communication with your M&E sub trade(s) and follow up on a monthly basis to ensure that deliverables and deadlines maintained
• Help develop M&E Scope of Work/ Tender Packages by reviewing specifications, drawings, estimate/ budget and related Subcontractor contracts
