Job summary

Hunter Ford in Madoc, Ontario, is seeking an Experienced Lube Technician or 2nd/3rd Year Automotive Service Technician Apprentice. The role is full-time with a pay rate of $20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience. You will work in a dealership service department and gain hands-on experience toward a licensed 310S technician.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive shop or lube technician experience preferred.
• 2nd or 3rd Year Automotive Service Technician Apprentices encouraged to apply.
• Valid Ontario driver's license with clean driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to safely operate shop equipment and hand/power tools.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Dependable, punctual and organized.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy dealership environment.
• Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.

Responsibilities

• Performing oil and filter changes and routine maintenance services.
• Completing tire rotations and seasonal tire changes.
• Inspecting and adjusting tire pressures and performing basic brake inspections.
• Checking and topping up vehicle fluids; replacing filters and wiper blades.
• Assisting licensed technicians with diagnostics and more complex repairs.
• Maintaining repair orders and keeping area clean and safe.
• Following health and safety requirements and dealership procedures.
• Assist with vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Complete basic mechanical repairs appropriate to your experience and apprenticeship level.
• Assist licensed technicians with diagnostics and more complex repairs.
• Perform multi-point vehicle inspections.
• Identify maintenance or repair concerns and communicate findings to the Service Department.
• Maintain accurate repair order information.
• Keep work area, tools and equipment clean, organized and safe.
• Follow dealership procedures and all health and safety requirements.
• Participate in manufacturer, dealership and apprenticeship training.
• Other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Be Doing

Depending on your experience and apprenticeship level, responsibilities may include:

• Performing oil and filter changes and routine maintenance services

• Assisting licensed technicians with diagnostics and more complex repairs
• Performing multi-point vehicle inspections
• Identifying maintenance or repair concerns and communicating findings to the Service Department

• Following dealership procedures and all applicable health and safety requirements
