Job description

Primoris Canada is an infrastructure contractor serving major firms in the oil, gas, power, petrochemical, and heavy oil industries and includes services covering tailings and hydro-transport pipeline construction and maintenance, storage tank construction and maintenance, industrial facilities multi-discipline construction and maintenance, piping fabrication, and pipeline integrity services.

SUMMARY

Primoris Canada is looking to add an experienced Lube Technician to our team. The Lube Technician is responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of production equipment.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Fort McMurray, AB

Travel: Flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary

JOB DUTIES

  • Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards
  • Operate lube trucks to safely service heavy equipment, as required and directed
  • Conduct safety inspections and Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities
  • Complete pre-job vehicle/equipment checks
  • Report and schedule vehicle/equipment repairs
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of service kits, lubes, oils, and other supplies
  • Coordinate equipment service activities with production and maintenance team members
  • Support Mechanics with unplanned breakdowns and repairs of heavy equipment
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation as required
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members
  • Attend required safety and tailgate/toolbox meetings
  • May perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be in possession of a current Class 1 or Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Endorsement and provide a clean 5-year abstract prior to hire
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience working with heavy equipment
  • CSTS-09 or CSO
  • Knowledge of the parts and servicing of Caterpillar, John Deere, and Komatsu equipment types
  • Proven mechanical aptitude and ability to identify when repairs are needed
  • Experience working with trailers in tight spaces is considered an asset
  • Able to work well in a team environment
  • Must be physically able to lift 50lbs
  • Professional character and self-motivated to complete tasks
