Job summary

Vancouver Honda, part of the Dilawri Group of Companies, is seeking a Lube Technician to join our Service Department. The role performs routine maintenance, inspections, and assists technicians to keep the service bay running efficiently.

The ideal candidate has automotive service experience, a high school diploma, a valid CAN driver’s license, and a willingness to learn. Pay is $23.59 per hour, with opportunities for training and career growth.

Qualifications

• Automotive service experience, apprenticeship experience, or automotive technical training preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Basic knowledge of automotive systems, maintenance procedures, and repair practices.
• Experience operating tire mounting, balancing, and fluid service equipment is an asset.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, bending, and working in varying shop conditions.
• Commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Perform oil and filter changes according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
• Inspect, top up, and replace automotive fluids including coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and windshield washer fluid.
• Check, adjust, and maintain proper tire pressure.
• Perform tire rotations, mounting, balancing, and seasonal tire changeovers.
• Conduct multi-point vehicle inspections and accurately document findings.
• Replace vehicle batteries, test charging systems, and ensure proper installation.
• Replace windshield wiper blades and inspect related components.
• Replace and test exterior lighting components, including headlights, taillights, and signal lamps.
• Assist with the removal and installation of exhaust system components as required.
• Support minor interior and exterior trim repairs and replacements.
• Assist in identifying and addressing common vehicle concerns such as water leaks and basic maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate repair orders and communicate inspection results to Service Advisors and senior technicians.
• Operate shop equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to dealership and manufacturer procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
