Job summary

Calgary Drop-In Centre Society is seeking an Licensed Practical Nurse for a full-time position based in Calgary, Alberta. The role supports the Urban Response program, including the EMCC and RRT components, delivering timely episodic nursing care in a nurse-led clinic setting.

The LPN will perform wound care, immunizations, phlebotomy, and health education while adhering to trauma-informed care principles and working within a compassionate, client-centered framework.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited two-year Practical Nursing diploma.
• Registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) in good standing.
• Current CPR - BLS certification.
• Solid understanding of trauma-informed care.
• Knowledge of addiction, homelessness, mental health, and acute medical concerns.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate nursing care independently within scope of practice with strong clinical judgment.
• Provide client-centered immunizations and treatments and support clinics.
• Educate clients on disease prevention, sexual health, harm reduction, and wellness topics.
• Perform phlebotomy and basic lab services ensuring safe, respectful care.
• Apply trauma-informed care to support diverse clients and reduce barriers.
• Assess needs, develop personalized health plans, and follow up to improve outcomes.
