Job summary

destinationone Consulting is seeking an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Calgary and Alberta locations. You will provide essential patient care across hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities, supporting daily needs and medication administration.

You will collaborate with RNs and physicians, document care in EHR, educate patients and families, and uphold infection control and safety standards while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a practical nursing program from an accredited institution.
  • Valid state LPN license and current CPR certification.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily care of patients, including bathing, dressing, and feeding, while ensuring comfort and dignity.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patients for side effects and effectiveness.
  • Observe and record patients' vital signs, symptoms, and changes in condition, reporting any concerns to the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Work closely with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and support treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about health management, medication usage, and preventive care strategies.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
