The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre seeks a Forensic Psychologist in Coquitlam to assess and treat youth with serious mental health issues. This role involves conducting psychological assessments, contributing to treatment planning, and connecting clinical care with the justice system. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. and have relevant experience in child and adolescent psychology.
The Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre operates through a collaborative multi-disciplinary team based in Coquitlam Prince George and Vernon with services extending province-wide. Teams include psychiatrists psychologists nurses social workers educators and youth care workers all working together to support youth aged 7 to 17 with complex mental health or behavioral challenges. A key focus is on youth involved in the justice system ensuring integrated care that promotes stability and supports communities in providing closer-to-home solutions.
The Role
The Forensic Psychologist at The Maples plays a critical role in assessing and treating youth with serious mental health issues particularly those deemed Not Criminally Responsible or Unfit to Stand Trial. Responsibilities include conducting psychological and risk assessments informing legal and clinical decisions and offering expert opinions to the courts. They also contribute to treatment planning staff training and community consultations helping to connect clinical care with the justice system while supporting safe evidence-based rehabilitation.

Currently there are two (2) full-time permanent opportunities in Coquitlam.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established for permanent and temporary part-time and full-time opportunities.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
