Job summary

The Home Depot Canada is seeking a Lot Associate to load orders into customer vehicles and keep the parking lot safe and welcoming for customers. You’ll be the first and last associate to interact with customers, supporting a positive shopping experience.

Use the GET model (Greet, Engage, Thank) to ensure customer satisfaction, manage carts, and assess loading needs while adhering to safety procedures in all weather conditions and busy environments.

Qualifications

  • Highschool Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 1–2 years retail experience.

Responsibilities

  • Loads orders into customer vehicles and ensures parking lot safety and welcoming environment.
  • Maintains a sufficient quantity of carts near store entrance.
  • Ask open-ended questions about customers’ projects to determine needs and expertise.
  • Approach customers to determine if they need help loading products into vehicles or carts.
  • Plan the best method of loading and securing merchandise in customers’ vehicles per Safe Loading Training.

Position Overview:

The Lot Associate's primary responsibility is to load orders into customer vehicles and ensuring the parking lot is safe and welcoming for the customer. Customer service and GET behaviours play a vital role in this position, as the Lot Associate is often the first and last Associate to interact with a customer.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensures Customer Satisfaction

  • Following Home Depot’s GET Model of customer service including Greeting, Engaging, and Thanking the customer.
  • Maintain a sufficient quantity of carts near the entrance of the store.
  • When required, ask open ended questions about the customer’s projects in order to determine their needs and level of expertise.
  • Approach customers to determine if they need help loading product into vehicles and/or shopping carts.
  • Plan the best method of loading and securing merchandise in customer’s vehicle as per Safe Loading Training.
Maintains Safety and Security
  • Ensure that all exits/loading areas are not blocked or cluttered; sweep and clean debris off front apron and lumber loading pad.
  • Follows all Safety and Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
  • Using appropriate safety procedures with all equipment.

Working Conditions:
  • Working within a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekends.
  • Warehouse environment that can be dusty and noisy.
  • Working in all weather conditions - frequent exposure to different weather conditions when loading and unloading product.
  • Doors are frequently open, causing drafts and interior temperature changes.
Minimum Education:
  • Highschool Diploma or Equivalent

  • 1 to 2 years Retail experience

The pay range for this position is between $18.85 - $19.85
