Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience in retail, loss prevention, security or related field.
• Current Loss Prevention Officer Certification required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Access to a reliable vehicle.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• May be responsible for multiple store locations; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct bag checks and support employee exit procedures.
• Identify and report suspicious behavior, theft risks, and policy violations.
• Maintain a visible presence on the sales floor to deter theft and ensure protocol compliance.
• Document incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with investigations after the initial training period (≈3 months).
• Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and shrink reduction initiatives.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees.
• Respond promptly to safety concerns and incidents; use de-escalation techniques.

We are looking for a Loss Prevention Officer to join our Retail team!

About the Role

We are looking for a Loss Prevention Officer to support store operations by maintaining a safe and secure environment for both customers and employees. You will help prevent loss through proactive monitoring, adherence to company procedures, and strong collaboration with store management. This role is ideal for someone with strong observation skills who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment and is confident in handling high-pressure situations with professionalism.

Loss Prevention & Store Security

• Conduct bag checks and support employee exit procedures following company policies.
• Identify and report suspicious behavior, theft risks, and policy violations.
• Assist in maintaining a visible presence on the sales floor to deter theft and ensure compliance with store protocols.
• Support incident prevention efforts and follow established loss prevention procedures.
• Document incidents accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain detailed and objective reports on safety concerns, suspicious activities, and store incidents.
• Support compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures.
• Assist with investigations after the initial training period (approximately 3 months).

Inventory Control & Operational Support

• Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and adherence to inventory control procedures.
• Assist with loss prevention initiatives related to stock handling and shrink reduction.

Safety & Risk Management

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for customers and employees at all times.
• Work closely with management to support store operations and minimize risks.
• Respond promptly to safety concerns and incidents within the store.
• Use de-escalation techniques to handle conflict situations professionally and effectively.
• Provide support during in-store events to ensure safety and security standards are upheld.

What You’ll Need

• 2-3 years of experience in retail, loss prevention, security, or related field.
• Strong observation skills with the ability to identify suspicious behavior.
• Able to provide a recent verified criminal background check
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Basic report writing skills with the ability to document incidents clearly and accurately.
• Strong understanding of store protocols, safety procedures, and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with management and team members.
• Previous experience in retail or customer-facing environments is considered an asset.
• High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Hold and maintain current and valid Loss Prevention Officer Certification
• Hold and maintain current and valid CPR certification
• Access to reliable vehicle
• May be responsible for multiple store locations; travel may be required .
