Job summary

Discovery Silver in Timmins, Ontario, is seeking a Longhole Driller to operate a mechanized longhole drill and produce hole patterns for underground stopes. The role includes preparing headings to standard and adhering to safety rules to ensure a safe, productive underground worksite.

You will report to the Underground Supervisor, bring seven years of mining experience, and complete required underground training. The position offers an hourly wage of CAD 55.49 and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and underground trade training.
• Seven years mining experience minimum.
• Must be able to operate mechanized longhole drill and related equipment.
• Fall arrest training completed.

Dimensions

The Longhole Driller reports to the Underground Supervisor at the Hoyle Pond site to ensure the underground mine operates according to company, federal, provincial and municipal standards.

Purpose

Operate mechanized longhole drill to production holes for mining stopes between levels. The longhole driller will have the ability to prepare their workplace headings to standard.

Essential Job Duties

• Must be able to operate mechanized longhole drill
• Ability to be trained on tele-op longhole drilling from surface in between shifts
• Must be able to setup and install casing for down holes
• Must be able to read, understand and follow prints
• Must be able to setup the workplace in a safe and productive fashion
• Other work as assigned by supervisor
