Job summary

Discovery Silver seeks a Construction Miner 1 for Timmins-area operations. Lead underground crews, read mining/construction plans, and perform rigging and field fabrication. Schedule is 7x7; pay rate CAD 51.81/hour.

Required: High School Diploma, 8+ years mining experience (5+ in construction), Underground Common Core certificates, and machine/operator licenses. Strong safety focus and growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years mining experience, 5 in construction.
• Underground Common Core Certificate with listed modules.
• High School Diploma.
• Trained and licensed to operate a variety of mine equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mining/construction plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction crew projects.
• Read and understand mining and construction plans.
• Underground construction including timbering, rebar, shotcrete, welding.
• Install/maintain air, water, sump and slurry line services.
• Operate mobile equipment such as blockholer, scissor decks, tractors, boomtrucks, LHD, jackleg, stopper, and service vehicles.
• Other duties as assigned by the Construction Supervisor.

Essential Job Duties

• Lead construction crew projects
• Must be able and qualified to perform rigging, structural fabrication in field.
• Must be able to read and understand mining and construction plans
• Must perform all aspects and be proficient at underground construction including timbering, infrastructure installation, rebar for cement form work, shotcrete, steel work, oxy acetylene and welding
• The installation and removal/replacement of air, water, sump and slurry/paste line services as required.
• Operate mobile equipment such as blockholer, scissor decks, tractors, boomtrucks, LHD equipment, jackleg, stopper, and service vehicles.
• Other duties as assigned by the Construction Supervisor.

Education, Training & Experience

• High School Diploma.
• Minimum of 8 years of mining experience including 5 years in a construction role
