Job summary

Agnico Eagle Mines Limited is seeking a Longhole Blaster, Miner 3 for the Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. You will perform longhole blasting and related underground mining activities while adhering to safety standards and site procedures.

The role requires experience with longhole methods, detonation timing, and loading operations, with a 7/7 schedule at the Macassa Mine. A strong safety and teamwork mindset is essential to support production goals.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Miner 2 or equivalent (>6 years underground).
• Strong understanding of longhole mining methods and procedures.
• Timing/Firing of EZ Dets and DigiShot.
• Extensive experience with Swedish Loader (stick powder in upholes).
• Experience with bulk emulsion is considered an asset.
• Longhole drilling experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Loading explosives, installation, grouting and tensioning cable bolts for hanging wall support.
• Competently perform all Mining 2, 3 & 4 functions (Services & Construction).
• Read and understand blast prints from engineering.
• Wash, scale, and prepare areas for safe loading activities.
• Listen to and communicate with others, keep accurate records on 5-point card, aligning with daily tasks.
• Work within their capabilities and provide help to other team members when capable.
• Proficient in longhole blasting of inverse/drop raises and production.
• Other duties as assigned.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Longhole Supervisor, you will be part of the Mine Operations Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
