Job summary

Registered Nurses Association of Ontario seeks a Long-Term Care Best Practice Implementation Coach to support rollout of evidence-based guidelines across Ontario LTC homes. The role includes developing regional plans, coordinating promotion of best practices, and acting as an educator resource.

The position requires on-site visits two full days weekly with some travel; RNAO offers a hybrid environment with monthly in-office days in Toronto and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

  • RN in Ontario.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Expertise in evidence-based practice.
  • Experience implementing RNAO Best Practice Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of adult education and change management.
  • Healthcare systems understanding.
  • Ability to build cross-sector relationships and lead teams.
  • Knowledge of LTC sector initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop regional plan to support BPG implementation in LTC homes and outreach in the region.
  • Seek, create and coordinate opportunities to promote and integrate evidence-based best practices in LTC.
  • Develop methodologies for knowledge transfer and act as a resource for educators in LTC.
  • Participate in research and evaluation activities.
  • Liaise with RNAO LTC Best Practices Program Manager and Associate Director for regional coordination.
  • Provide regular feedback to RNAO and MOHLTC on the initiative.

Long-Term Care Best Practice Implementation Coach - 2026LTC08

The primary function of theLong-Term Care Best PracticeImplementation Coachis to support the implementation of best-practice guidelines in the Long-Term Care (LTC) sector across various regions ofOntario.

Note:Thispostingisintendedtofillmultiplepositions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop a regional plan to support the implementation of BPGs in the assigned Long-Term Care homes, outlining strategies to facilitate spread within the region and outreach to area long-term care homes.
  • Seek,createand coordinate opportunities for promotion and integration of evidence-based best practices in thelong-termcare sector.
  • Develop methodologies for promoting and supporting knowledge transfer, and act as a resource, where appropriate, foreducators within LTC homes.
  • Participate in and provide feedback to research and evaluation activities.
  • Liaise with the RNAO LTC Best Practices Program Manager and the Associate Director to provide information for integration and coordination of activities across regions within theLong TermCare sector, including strategic planning, implementation,evaluationand resource development
  • Provide regular feedback toRNAOand to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Careregardingthe initiative, as required and appropriate

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse with theCollegeofNursesofOntario
  • MastersDegree in Nursing or related field, preferred
  • Expertisein the principles of evidenced based practice
  • Experience with implementation ofRNAOBest Practice Guidelines
  • Knowledge and experience of adult education strategies and change management
  • Health systems oriented with broad understanding of health delivery mechanisms
  • Experience in creating andmaintainingcross-sectoral linkages and relationships
  • Team building skills, leadership and motivational skills, project managementexperienceand knowledge of related Long Term Care initiatives
  • Knowledge of the Long-Term Care Sector and related initiatives

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requireson-sitevisitsfortwofull workdayseachweek.Additionaltravel mayoccasionallyberequiredfor conferences, external meetings, and other in-person events.Furthermore, you are expected to work at RNAO’s HomeOffice in Toronto once a month oras required byyour department.Work-related travel expenses will be reimbursedinaccordance withRNAO's policies.

Thispostisforanexistingvacancy.

Thestartingannualsalaryforthispositionis$85,000.Site‑visit travel expenses are covered as per RNAO policies.
