  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Master\'s Degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Expertise in evidence-based practice.
  • Experience with implementation of RNAO Best Practice Guidelines.
  • Knowledge and experience of adult education strategies and change management.
  • Health systems oriented with broad understanding of health delivery mechanisms.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining cross-sectoral linkages and relationships.
  • Team building, leadership and project management experience.
  • Knowledge of the Long-Term Care Sector and related initiatives.

Job description

The primary function of the Long-Term Care Best Practice Implementation Coach is to support the implementation of best-practice guidelines in the Long-Term Care (LTC) sector across various regions of Ontario.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop a regional plan to support the implementation of BPGs in the assigned Long-Term Care homes, outlining strategies to facilitate spread within the region and outreach to area long-term care homes.
  • Seek, create and coordinate opportunities for promotion and integration of evidence-based best practices in the long-term care sector.
  • Develop methodologies for promoting and supporting knowledge transfer, and act as a resource, where appropriate, for educators within LTC homes.
  • Participate in and provide feedback to research and evaluation activities.
  • Liaise with the RNAO LTC Best Practices Program Manager and the Associate Director to provide information for integration and coordination of activities across regions within the Long Term Care sector, including strategic planning, implementation, evaluation and resource development
  • Provide regular feedback to RNAO and to the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care regarding the initiative, as required and appropriate
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Currently registered as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Masters Degree in Nursing or related field, preferred
  • Expertise in the principles of evidenced based practice
  • Experience with implementation of RNAO Best Practice Guidelines
  • Knowledge and experience of adult education strategies and change management
  • Health systems oriented with broad understanding of health delivery mechanisms
  • Experience in creating and maintaining cross-sectoral linkages and relationships
  • Team building skills, leadership and motivational skills, project management experience and knowledge of related Long Term Care initiatives
  • Knowledge of the Long-Term Care Sector and related initiatives
WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires on-site visits for two full workdays each week. Additional travel may occasionally be required for conferences, external meetings, and other in-person events. Furthermore, you are expected to work at RNAO’s Home Office in Toronto once a month or as required by your department. Work-related travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with RNAO's policies.

NOTES:

This post is for an existing vacancy.

The starting annual salary for this position is $ 85,000. Site‑visit travel expenses are covered as per RNAO policies.
