Job summary

R S GILL EXPRESS LTD. in Delta, BC is seeking a reliable truck driver to handle a range of duties from transportation to customer service and on-site maintenance. No experience is required as training is provided.

You will calculate repair costs, address complaints, load and unload goods, and perform pre-trip inspections. This is a full-time role with 40 hours per week on multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate is required.
• Driver's License (Class 1 or A) is required.
• No experience needed; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts.
• Address customers' complaints or concerns.
• Drive lighter, special purpose trucks.
• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Pay and receive payments for goods.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
