Job summary

BALENA TRANSPORT LTD is seeking an experienced truck driver to join our team. You will drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, load and unload goods, and manage dispatch communications. Responsibilities include obtaining permits for international routes and ensuring vehicle safety through pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

Candidates should be willing to travel cross-border, overnight, and work at various locations. A valid driver’s license is required; relocation assistance is available.

Responsibilities

Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
Load and unload goods
Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
Operate trucks to transport goods and materials
Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
Perform brake adjustments
Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Receive and relay information to central dispatch
Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
