Ecolab is seeking a Logistics Wave Planner to join our growing team in Mississauga, ON. The Wave Planner reports into the Shift Supervisor and is responsible for planning out the work to be completed each shift by viewing upcoming shipments and compiling shipment orders into workable “wave groups” for the order selectors to pick. This individual will collaborate with logistics leads, supervisors, and fork truck operator staff to maintain proper warehouse flow. The role will also support the team as a back-up Forklift Operator, including order picking and/or packing, order processing and other logistics duties.

What You Will Do:
Wave Planner Duties:
- Foster clear communication with your team and internal contacts to address service related interests.
- Act as a subject matter expert and perform various logistics activities such as account management, database maintenance, replenishment and inventory forecasting, shortage resolution, distribution planning, delivery execution and exception management activities.
- Manage quality, service and cost metrics. Regularly analyze and report on measured data while developing and implementing specific plans to achieve improvements.
- Daily GEMBA “safety walks”, near miss/incident reporting, and mentoring safety culture.
- Quality reporting, daily operational audits, customer complaints, inventory accuracy, and cycle-counting.
- Administrative tasks to support business needs.
- Manage and support operational workflow.
- Review upcoming work.
- Set work into obtainable work groups, re-prioritizing when necessary.
- Assign and monitor the work of various warehouse personnel.
- Complete the waves in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Release orders based on pick-up time/date, order size, type, and complexity.
- Update the wave and loading dashboards.
- Ensure clear communication to picking and replenishment teams to ensure that operators understand which queue they are to be working in.
- Ensure loads are completed by pick-up time and reprioritize work TO’s to facilitate this.
- Ensure a balance of work between work queues.
- Other duties as required and assigned.
Forklift Operator Duties:
- Manually picks full-case orders and stacking them onto pallets using a scanner/tablet.
- Ensures proper staging and identification once an order has been completely picked.
- Uses various pieces of equipment (manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, reach truck, and propane lift) to move pallets.
- Verifies quantities, quality of items and proper labeling of products that are being shipped.
- Examines all packaging and contents of items for conformance to customer specifications and verifies all information against the packing list and SAP.
- Coordinates with other departments such as customer service, production, instant and small pack.
- Shipping box assembly, induction for packing, label preparation and application.
- Trailer loading of packed boxes and pallets.
- Identifies items with a quantity discrepancy and promptly communicates with Supervisor and/or Lead.
- Maintains the 5S cleanliness of the picking area and pulls completed shrink-wrapped orders to the dock for LTL packers.
- Follows all safety and warehouse procedures and policies.
Position Details:
- The main work location for this position will be Mississauga (Tranmere Dr./Drew Rd).
- Periodically, the role will be required to work at the Mississauga (Tomken Rd./Eglinton Ave.) location, based on business requirements.
- Candidate must reside in: Greater Toronto Area.
- Work week and shift: 2:30pm - 11:00pm Monday to Thursday and 2:00pm - 10:30pm on Friday.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Previous work experience in logistics, transportation, operations or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and Access.
- 2 years experience and certification with counter-balance and reach fork lift truck.
- Able to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Able to follow both written and verbal directions.
- A minimal level of analytical ability is required.
- No immigration sponsorship is available for this role.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry 50lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, Transportation or a related field of study.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel and Access.
- SAP experience.
- Previous project management experience.
- Exposure to TPM and/or Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement, think critically and work well in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment performing shipping and/or receiving responsibilities.
- Be able to properly utilize a manual pallet jack and electric pallet jack.
