Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods in Edmonton, Alberta seeks a Logistics Team Leader to oversee shipping, receiving and inventory activities in a fast-paced environment. The role focuses on safe product movement, accuracy, and team leadership, with flexibility for evening/night coverage.

The successful candidate will coordinate with transportation, production and supply chain teams to meet operational needs while maintaining GMP/HACCP standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all shipping, receiving, warehousing, and inventory activities to support safe, efficient, and accurate product movement.
  • Supervise warehouse team members, ensuring timely execution of shipping, receiving, picking, put-away, and inventory control processes.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, warehouse organization, allergen management, and documentation, including vendor damage claims and shipment records.
  • Coordinate with transportation providers, production, supply chain teams, and third-party partners to meet operational requirements.
  • Ensure all logistics activities comply with quality, food safety, GMP, HACCP, and regulatory standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture through compliance with Occupational Health & Safety requirements, hazard prevention, and employee training.
  • Lead daily team meetings, communicate performance expectations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, service, and cost.
  • Develop, coach, and support team members through training, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Foster positive employee and union relations through effective communication, problem-solving, and administration of the Collective Agreement and company policies.
  • Build collaborative relationships across Production, FSQA, Health & Safety, Reliability, and Supply Chain to achieve departmental and plant objectives.

POSITION: Logistics Team Leader SHIFT: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm - 10:30pm
Flexibility for Evening/Night Vacation Coverages
LOCATION: Edmonton, Alberta WAGE: Negotiable
An exciting opportunity has opened up for one (1) energetic, results oriented individual within one of Maple Leaf Foods fastest growing markets. Maple Leaf Foods, Edmonton Poultry is a well-established progressive company.

We are currently recruiting for one (1) qualified and capable individual to assist management. We have one (1) vacancy in the Shipping/Receiving Department from 10:00am - 6:30pm, with flexibility to work evenings/nights on occasion to provide vacation and necessary coverage.

Job Summary:
Oversee the department, the people and systems, actively participate and be involved in a high performance cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Working Conditions:

  • Must be physically fit and able to multitask, quickly adjusting from one task to another
  • Presence will be required on the production floor for long periods of time
