Qualifications

Position Summary

The Logistics Team Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the delivery of assets within the BMO Centre and across Stampede Park. This includes ensuring the accurate and timely fulfillment of requests and work orders while maintaining efficiency and compliance with organizational standards. The role also involves leading and mentoring a team of logistics operators, troubleshooting operational challenges, and implementing improvements to enhance performance and reliability in alignment with the organization’s goals.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the delivery of assets within the BMO Centre and across Stampede Park, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of all requests and work orders.
  • Actively identify and implement solutions to improve logistics processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the reliability of asset distribution.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to anticipate logistical needs and align operations with organizational goals.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to logistics operators, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and professional development within the team.
  • Support the Operations Manager in monitoring and managing asset inventory levels to ensure the availability of required assets while minimizing downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to asset delivery, work orders, or resource allocation, maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Liaise with other departments, clients, and stakeholders to coordinate logistical operations for events and day-to-day fulfilment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements in all logistics operations.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in conducting regular reviews of team performance, providing constructive feedback, and identifying opportunities for improvement and training.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment on operational priorities.
  • Other duties as required to support the success of logistics operations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be proactive, optimistic and have worked in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where they have experience delivering on multiple priorities and will hold the following qualifications:

  • Minimum level of education: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 (non-GDL) driver’s license.
  • Valid forklift certification with at least 2 years of experience operating in a racking/warehouse setting, including proficiency with both stand-up electric (Class 2) and sit-down (Class 5) forklifts.
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring a team in a logistics or warehouse environment.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve logistical challenges with a focus on efficiency and reliability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and other departments effectively.
  • Familiarity with asset inventory management systems and logistics software is an asset.
  • Previous customer service-related/events experience is an asset.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
