Job summary

The Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) is hiring a Shipper/Receiver to manage accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory movements across GVFB facilities. You will work closely with the Warehouse Lead and logistics team to ensure timely transfers and documentation, supporting efficient operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience operating industrial machinery in a warehouse environment, including at least two of: electric pallet jacks, counterbalanced forklifts, and reach trucks.
• BC Class 5 driving license and ability to provide 3 years Insurance Claims History and 3 years clean Driver’s Abstract is an asset.
• Experience with warehouse or inventory management systems is an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and team collaboration tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the daily accuracy of shipping and receiving transactions by inspecting, weighing, counting, and recording inbound and outbound product movements in the digital system.
• Maintain clear, timely, and respectful communication with team members across the organization.
• Create daily delivery orders for product movements between GVFB locations.
• Prepare shipping documentation and coordinate staging and loading of outbound orders.
• Receive and unload inbound deliveries, confirm quantities and condition, and direct teams to complete put-away tasks.
• Coordinate with Logistics regarding inbound/outbound schedules, trucking needs, transfers, and deliveries.
• Prepare orders for community agency markets and maintain transfer and stock records.
• Maintain complete and accurate shipping, receiving, transfer, inventory, and administrative records.
• Uphold food-handling requirements and safe machinery operating practices.
• Keep the shipping and receiving area clean and safe for daily operations.
