About The Role

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular Full-time Manager Logistics, Warehouse Operations to join our dynamic Supply Chain Operations team.

In this role, you will be responsible providing direction and leadership in the planning, development and execution of warehousing operations. Operations include: receiving and issuing supplies and material for internal customers at multiple locations, managing of supply kits for mobile blood collection events, managing packaging material and conditioning supplies for transportation of temperature sensitive goods, removal and disposal of biomedical wastes.

Formula for Success

  • Leads in the development, implementation and management of Logistics Service Level Agreements to support internal partners and customers
  • Set detailed plans on how to support agreed requirements and ensures services are delivered
  • Develops, established and reports on metrics to monitor the performance of the level of service delivered
  • Participates in interpreting, applying and providing support as Logistics Subject Matter Expert to negotiate the Collective Agreements, Non-Unionized Terms and Conditions of Employment and Corporate Policies and Procedures
  • Takes active role in grievance, discipline and problem/conflict resolution process in consultation with Business Partners and the Director, Supply Chain
  • Directs, coordinates and monitors the delivery of warehouse management functions and operational support to internal customers
  • Communicates, prepares and manages the budgetary process for the regional Warehouse operations
  • Actively participates in the implementation of improvements to provide efficient and cost-effective supply chain management and improved service to internal and external customers, with a strong focus on effective change management to ensure smooth adoption and sustainable results
  • Reports accurate and timely Key Performance Indicators on Field Logistics functions


Desired Education And Skills

  • Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution
  • Minimum eight years of related experience in field logistics area of warehousing and inventory control. Experience in a logistically complex environment on the basis of staffing level, multiple sites, concurrent level of activity, number of customers and geographical territory
  • Understanding and experience with regulated environments
  • Strong leadership skills including demonstrated ability to create and align around team goals, to build effective teams, and to manage through change with care among others
  • Solid analytical abilities with effective problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency using computers is required, with a strong working knowledge of SAP financial, purchasing, and warehouse management modules being essential. Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite is also required
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable legislation including Provincial Highway Traffics Acts, Motor Vehicle Acts, Dangerous Goods Act, Provincial Environment Acts, Knowledge of Warehousing Standards is mandatory , with familiarity with the Ontario Building Code (OBC) being an asset
  • Ability to prepare, recommend and manage budgets, and provide clear and well supported analysis

  • This role will work at Canadian Blood Services, 100 Parkshore Dr, Brampton ON location with requirements to be on-site 100% of the time/5 days of the week
  • Travel is required for regional site visits and national meetings
