Job description

Logistics Manager

Our client is a well established food manufacturer in Langley, BC. They are looking for a Logistics Manager to join them on a permanent full time basis.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize supply chain operations
  • Coordinate and monitor the entire order cycle, from procurement to delivery
  • Manage transportation, warehouse, inventory, and distribution operations
  • Analyze and optimize logistical procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and transportation providers
  • Track delivery times, transportation costs, and other key performance indicators
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and customs requirements
  • Supervise logistics staff and provide mentorship and training
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems that arise in the supply chain
  • Manage logistics budgets and control expenses
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or related areaStrong knowledge of logistics operations and supply chain management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in logistics software and MS Office applications
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience with warehouse management systems and ERP software
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures
  • Certification in logistics or supply chain management (CSCP, CLTD, etc.), preferred
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives, preferred
  • Familiarity with lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies, preferred
