Job summary

University of Ottawa is seeking a Logistics Coordinator in the Science Store on Main Campus to administer inventory stock requests, adjustments and replenishment, and to ensure safe, timely pick-up and delivery shipments.

Reporting to the Lead Coordinator, Logistics, you will manage orders, perform counts, ensure CSA/WHMIS and TDG compliance, and support buyers with required documentation for smooth customs and internal processing.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary education or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum two (2) years of experience in logistics, supply chain support or similar role.
• Experience interpreting, explaining and applying policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Federal and Provincial Environmental Health and Safety Legislation.
• Experience using ERP solutions and software.
• Experience in customer service.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Capacity to lift boxes and move warehousing equipment.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to priorities.
• Bilingualism (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Manage orders associated with inventory by processing stock requests and coordinating customer order fulfillment and delivery.
• Perform inventory counts, adjustments, and replenishments to maintain stock levels and ensure information accuracy for clients.
• Track regulated substances received or shipped, such as chemicals and assets, complying with CSA and WHMIS requirements.
• Provide guidance to buyers and clients ensuring documentation is complete to avoid delays or surcharges.
• Manage shipping requests, review freight costs, transportation rates and carriers, and prepare TDG-compliant packaging and invoices.
