Job summary

Pop-A-Lock of York Region is seeking a Locksmith Service Technician to service Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham and surrounding areas. This mobile role spans residential, commercial and automotive locksmithing with training in automotive key programming, door automation and access control.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential, commercial or automotive locksmithing.
• Ability to install, service, rekey and generate lost keys.
• Willingness to do occasional after-hours work.
• Live in York Region or surrounding areas.
• Valid Ontario G-Level driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and service mechanical locks, keys, and door hardware.
• Work with electronic access control devices (keypads, card readers, electric strikes).
• Troubleshoot and maintain automatic door operators and integrated security systems.
• Deliver excellent customer service and security recommendations.

What You'll Do

• Install, repair, and service mechanical locks, keys, and door hardware (closers, exit devices, hinges). Work with electronic access control devices (keypads, card readers, electric strikes, magnetic locks).
• Troubleshoot and maintain automatic door operators and related integrated security systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues, providing expert solutions.
• Deliver excellent customer service and security recommendations.

Who We're Looking For

• Locksmiths & Door Technicians with experience in commercial, residential or automotive locksmithing.
• Junior Technicians with strong mechanical aptitude, eager to learn. Trades background in electrical work, data wiring, carpentry, glazing, or auto mechanics are a plus!

Must-Haves

• Ability to work with various manual and power tools & equipment.
• Excellent technical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and follow up.
• Valid Ontario G‑Level driver's license (with a clean driving record)
• Trustworthy, detail‑oriented, and customer‑focused. Clean criminal background check.
• Willingness to do occasional after‑hours urgent/emergency work, if required
• Live in York Region or surrounding areas.
• Post secondary education in a related technical field is a plus!
