Job summary

UPS in Kanata, Ontario is seeking a Part-Time Warehouse Worker to join our busy package handling team. You will load and unload packages, sort by destination, and assist with stock within a fast-paced warehouse.

You must be able to lift up to 70 lbs, work 25 hours per week, Sunday to Thursday, with shifts starting at 5:00 PM. This role offers union-based pay progression and benefits after one year.

Position Summary

The Package Handler’s position is a physical fast-paced and labor-intensive role within a warehouse environment that involves sorting/stocking packages as well as loading and unloading them into and out of UPS package delivery vehicles and trailers.

Job Type: Part-Time - Permanent

Work Location: 8825 Campeau Dr, Kanata, ON

Workdays: Monday to Friday

Shift Start Time: 5:00 PM *start time may vary based on business needs

• Shift averages 3-5 hours a day, start times / finish times may vary with operational need. Flexibility required.

Pay rate: $18.15

• Learn and properly execute company-established package handling methods
• Sort and stock packages based on postal codes

Qualifications / Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32kg) without assistance
• Full availability to work Sunday to Thursday (all five days of the week)
• Must be able to work 25 hours per week legally
• Ability to read and memorize postal codes
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
• Comfortable working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles
• Warehouse experience - Preferred

Compensation And Benefits

• Pay rate of $18.15
• Automatic pay rate progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement (top rate: $35.15/hr. after 48 months)
• Tuition reimbursement of up to $2,000 per semester
