North American Services Inc. is seeking Loader Operators to join our remote mining team in Fort McMurray. Position Scope

NASI is seeking Loader Operators to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area.

This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contractors in the region.

For this role, NASI offers a base rate of up to $33.00/hour as well as room for growth!

Where You’ll Be Working

  • Site: Syncrude-Aurora
  • Schedule: 10 x 4 (days only)- 11.5 hour shifts
  • Accommodations: Camp is not provided
  • Work Duration: 1 month +, may be extended/opportunity to roll into another project
  • Tentative start date: March 18, 2026
  • Transportation: Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts)
  • Overtime: Provided after 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week

Please note that this is a CLAC position and candidates working under NASI will be under the collective agreement.

Responsibilities

What You'll Be Doing

  • Bundle and secure all materials in prep for transport in our Heavy Equipment yard.
  • Assist third party contractor with the loading and unloading of transport trucks.
  • Providing escorts with support.
  • Unpack and reestablish the heavy equipment yard in the new location.
Qualifications

What Makes You the ONE

  • Minimum 6 months loader operating experience.
  • Must be familiar with material transport, both on loading and off loading.
  • Experience in construction and earthworks.
  • Strong safety awareness.
  • High preference for individuals with equipment operating experience (Haul Truck/Dozer) as there is potential to roll into a future project.
  • Oilsands experience considered an asset.
  • Attentive and possess strong listening skills.
  • High school diploma, GED, and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset.
  • Must be proficient in English, both verbal and written.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
What's Next

If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process for a site-based role, you will be asked to provide the following:

  • Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and ability to provide a recent Driver’s Abstract
  • Valid CSO or BSO (Energy Safety Canada)
  • Silica Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
  • Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
  • OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
  • H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
  • Field Ergonomics (Energy Safety Canada)
  • Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing:
    • Breath Alcohol Test
    • Urine Drug Test

Once onboarded, the following processes will occur:

  • Will receive a call from NASI to set up all required pre-employment testing
  • An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
  • After all results and paperwork are received by NASI, candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site‑specific details.

Please note: The onboarding process can take anywhere from 3-8 business days.
