Job summary

Firma Contracting is seeking an experienced Wheel Loader Operator to work on underground water and sewer projects in Edmonton. The role involves close coordination with pipe crews, maintaining safety, and delivering high-quality production in congested urban areas.

You will perform daily equipment inspections, adhere to CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015, manage material movement, and operate additional equipment as needed while upholding the company safety program.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as Wheel Loader Operator.
• Underground utility rehabilitation / replacement experience is an asset.
• Exceptionally safety conscious.
• Able to work independently and follow instruction from the superintendent / foreman.
• Ability to operate other equipment is an asset.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Installation of underground utilities in close proximity to existing utilities and in residential / commercial areas.
• Work closely with pipe crews to install pipe - ensuring safety, communication and quality.
• Work in highly congested areas.
• Move materials to pipe crews using proper rigging mechanisms and procedures.
• Operate equipment in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment.
• Ensure work is safe and produced to high quality while maintaining production.
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program.
• Daily equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Conduct oneself professionally with honesty and integrity.

• Installation of underground utilities in close proximity to existing utilities and in existing residential / commercial areas
• Work closely with pipe crews to install pipe - ensuring a high level of safety, communication and quality
• Working in highly congested areas
• Moving materials to pipe crews using proper rigging mechanisms and procedures
• Operate equipment in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment
• Ensure work is always done safely, to the highest quality standard while maintaining strong production
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program
• Daily equipment inspections and maintenance
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner with honesty and integrity

Required Skills:
