Recruitment Consultant | Commercial/Residential Facilities & Maintenance | At Hays

We are seeking a live-in Building Caretaker to support two rental properties (179 units) in Calgary.

You’ll oversee daily operations and general management of both buildings, working closely with the Residential Property Manager. This role includes maintenance, tenant relations, and ensuring the properties are clean, safe, and welcoming.

Key Responsibilities

1. Foster positive relationships with residents and team members
2. Perform or coordinate minor repairs and maintenance
3. Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior common areas
4. Remove garbage, sweep walkways, and manage snow/ice removal
5. Respond to emergencies during and occasionally outside work hours
6. Coordinate with trades and supervise contractors as needed
7. Assist with suite showings, move-ins, and move-out inspections
8. Serve notices in compliance with the Residential Tenancy Act
9. Be reachable by phone when off-site
10. Process maintenance requests using Yardi Maintenance Systems
11. Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

1. 2+ years of experience in a similar caretaker or building management role
2. Knowledge of building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC)
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
4. Familiarity with the Residential Tenancy Act
5. Strong communication and organizational skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Proven handyman skills are an asset
