Job summary

CBC/Radio-Canada is seeking an experienced Production Camera Operator for multi-camera, live-to-tape and live broadcast productions in Toronto. This role requires precision in camera movement, setup, and execution under pressure in fast-paced environments.

The candidate will work with a top-tier production team, manage live cues from the Director, and ensure flawless shots across studio and remote settings. This is a part-time, temporary position located at the CBC Broadcast Centre in Toronto.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5+ years in multi-camera broadcast environments.
• Understands broadcast network and technical standards.
• Excellent intercom/headset communication with the director.
• Willing to work irregular hours including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays.
• Preference for Pedestal, Jimmy Jib & Steadicam expertise.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-end broadcast cameras (F5500) in studio or remote environments.
• Execute complex framing, tracking and composition changes based on real-time cues.
• Perform pre-show camera checks, align zoom/focus, and troubleshoot configurations.
• Set up and strike: run fiber and assemble different camera bodies.
