Job summary

Calgary Co-op is seeking a Liquor Store Supervisor in Calgary to ensure excellent customer service and smooth store operations. You will supervise the Liquor Store Clerk/Cashiers, maintain stock levels, displays, and price integrity, and uphold safety policies.

You will also manage receiving, ordering, inventory, scheduling, and coordination with the Liquor Store Manager, while ensuring compliance with provincial liquor regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • 18+ years of age.
  • Grade 12 education or acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Previous liquor experience with strong product knowledge or equivalent supervisory experience.
  • Basic receiving, ordering and merchandising skills.
  • Basic Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Related post-secondary education.
  • Experience supervising others, planning, ordering, and organizing events, projects and programs.
  • Six months of liquor retail experience with strong product knowledge and knowledge of provincial liquor regulations or equivalent retail experience.
  • Kronos knowledge.
  • Basic category analyzer knowledge.
  • Passion and knowledge of wines, wine regions, and wine production.

Responsibilities

  • Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through the proper handling of questions, comments and complaints.
  • Plans and performs all aspects of Liquor functions including stocking and facing in an efficient and organized manner.
  • Handles merchandise ensuring quality, minimizing damages and markdowns, provides substitutions and ensures price integrity including price changes.
  • Performs general clean up duties such as cleaning spills and display fixtures to ensure a neat and organized store is maintained.
  • Promotes health and safety regulations and policies to ensure the safety of employees and customers.
  • Responsible for ordering merchandise and supplies and for receiving including invoices and storage.
  • Responsible for organizing and conducting inventory and cash handling duties.
  • Develops and maintains schedules and participates in budgeting and meetings.
