Job summary

Calgary Co-op in Airdrie, Alberta is seeking a Liquor Store Supervisor to ensure customer service and a safe, efficient operation. Reports to the Liquor Store Manager and supervises the Clerk/Cashiers while maintaining stock, pricing integrity, and compliance with regulations.

The role requires 18+ years, Grade 12 or higher, liquor knowledge, and supervisory experience. Benefits include health coverage, staff discounts, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Grade 12 education or acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Previous liquor experience with strong product knowledge or equivalent supervisory experience.
• Basic receiving, ordering and merchandising skills.
• Basic Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Related post-secondary education.
• Experience in supervising others, planning, ordering, and organizing events, projects and programs.
• Six (6) months of liquor retail experience with strong product knowledge and knowledge of provincial liquor regulations or equivalent retail experience.
• Kronos knowledge
• Basic category analyzer knowledge.
• Passion and knowledge of wines, wine regions, and wine production.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through the proper handling of questions, comments and complaints.
• Plans and performs all aspects of liquor functions including stocking and facing in an efficient and organized manner.
• Handles merchandise ensuring quality, minimizing damages and markdowns, provides substitutions and ensures price integrity including price changes.
• Performs general cleanup duties such as cleaning spills and display fixtures to ensure a neat and organized store is maintained.
• Promotes health and safety rules and regulations and policies to ensure the health and safety of all Employees and customers.
• Provides supervision/direction to Employees in the Liquor Store in the following areas and ensures daily functions are carried out efficiently.
