South Country Co-op is seeking a Liquor Clerk for the Northlands Liquor Store in Medicine Hat, AB. You will deliver exceptional customer service, stock merchandise, operate the register, and maintain clean, compliant store conditions.

The role requires ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days), strong product knowledge, and the ability to stand for long periods while handling occasional heavy items. Opportunities for growth and Total Rewards are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have or be willing to obtain ProServe certification within 30 days of hire.
• Previous experience in liquor retail or general retail/cash handling is preferred.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift 20–30 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally).
• Strong product knowledge and understanding of provincial liquor regulations is an asset.
• Basic computer, calculator, and POS skills.
• Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, and professionally.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and a team player.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technology.

Responsabilités

• Provide world-class customer service by assisting guests with purchases and inquiries.
• Receive and stock merchandise, rotate inventory, and replenish shelves as needed.
• Operate the cash register and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions.
• Maintain merchandising standards, including creating endcap displays and signage.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of shelves, coolers, and store areas.
• Adhere to provincial liquor laws and store safety procedures.
• Support team members as needed and help maintain a collaborative work environment.
• Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op.
• Other duties as assigned.
