South Country Co-op is seeking a motivated Liquor Clerk for the Strachan Liquor Store in Medicine Hat, AB. You will deliver world-class customer service, assist guests with purchases, and manage stock and merchandising to maintain appealing shelves and displays.

The role requires flexible availability (days, evenings, weekends) and emphasizes a team-oriented, customer-focused environment. ProServe certification is required within 30 days of hire, with prior liquor retail or cash-handling

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Must obtain ProServe certification within 30 days of hire.
• Previous experience in liquor retail or general retail/cash handling is preferred.
• Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift 20–30 lbs (up to 50 lbs occasionally).
• Strong product knowledge and understanding of provincial liquor regulations an asset.
• Basic computer, calculator, and POS skills.

Position Summary:

South Country Co-op is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Liquor Clerk to join our team at the Strachan Liquor Store in Medicine Hat, AB. If you’re passionate about providing exceptional customer experiences, we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide world-class customer service by assisting guests with purchases and inquiries
• Receive and stock merchandise, rotate inventory, and replenish shelves as needed
• Operate the cash register and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions
• Maintain merchandising standards, including creating endcap displays and signage
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of shelves, coolers, and store areas
• Adhere to provincial liquor laws and store safety procedures
• Support team members as needed and help maintain a collaborative work environment
• Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in liquor retail or general retail/cash handling is preferred

• Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, and professionally
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and a team player
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technology

Work Schedule:

This position requires full availability including days, evenings, and weekends.
