Job summary

GlassHouse Systems in Toronto is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to own and optimize enterprise environments, focusing on automation, reliability, and performance.

You will lead RHEL/Ubuntu administration, build and maintain Ansible playbooks, and script in Python and Bash while integrating with Microsoft cloud and IBM Cloud platforms. This role includes documentation and collaboration with a small technical team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Systems administration experience with RHEL and Ubuntu.
• 8+ years of Ansible Core: experience designing, building, and maintaining automation.
• 5+ years of Scripting: Python and Bash; cloud platform integration (Microsoft cloud apps, IBM Cloud). IBM i a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Certifications: RHCSA (must); RHCE; LPIC; IBM Cloud certifications.

You will be expected to take ownership of systems, contribute to automation strategy, and continuously improve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Linux Systems Administration: Extensive experience with RHEL and Ubuntu, including installation,
  configuration, patching, troubleshooting, and distribution upgrades.
  Experience with MySQL a plus.
• Automation using Ansible Core: Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining automation using Ansible
  Core, including development of playbooks, roles, inventories, and collections.
• Scripting: Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash to implement advanced logic not
  natively handled by Ansible. Experience integrating with cloud platforms,
  including Microsoft cloud-based applications and IBM Cloud.
  IBM i experience is a differentiator.
• Documentation: Ability to create clear, structured, and reusable documentation for automation
  workflows, operational procedures, and system configurations.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of Systems administration experience with RHEL and Ubuntu including installation, configuration, patching, troubleshooting and distribution upgrades.
• 8+ years of Ansible Core: Experience designing, building, and maintaining automation creating playbooks, roles, inventories and collections.
• 5+ years of Scripting: Create Python and Bash scripts when needed to implement logic not handled natively by playbooks and interaction with Microsoft applications and IBM cloud platforms. IBM i experience a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Relevant certifications such as:
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) – a Must
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC)
  • IBM Cloud certifications
