We are seeking a skilled Linux Administrator to join our team at Simnet. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing our Linux-based server infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  1. Install, configure, and maintain Linux-based servers, including Ubuntu and Red Hat.
  2. Provide technical support for Linux servers, including troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  3. Manage user accounts and permissions, including file and directory permissions.
  4. Implement security measures, such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems, to protect Linux servers from cyber threats.
  5. Ensure Linux servers are up-to-date and secure by regularly installing security patches and updates.
  6. Automate routine tasks using Bash scripting and other automation tools.
  7. Perform backups and recovery and ensure data integrity.
  8. Participate in capacity planning and performance tuning activities.
  9. Troubleshoot and support KVM and OpenStack.
  10. Perform administration of Kubernetes and Docker.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Linux administration, specifically with Ubuntu and Red Hat.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, such as Apache Cloud Stack, Verge.io, VMware, and KVM.
  • Experience with containerization, such as Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Experience with backup software, such as Veeam or Acronis.
  • Experience with automation tools, such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with configuration management, such as Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
  • Experience with orchestration, such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux security principles and best practices.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols, including DNS, DHCP, and routing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mentorship - coach, guide, and provide support to junior team members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Linux administration, specifically with Ubuntu and Red Hat.
