Greyhound Tavern in Brentwood, Burnaby is seeking full- and part-time cooks for all shifts to join a fast-paced kitchen. You will own your station, prep, cook and plate with quality, and contribute to a guest experience that starts before service.

Qualifications

• 1 year of cooking experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and knife skills.
• Understanding of safe food handling and cleanliness.
• Ability to take direction and work quickly and efficiently.
• Strong teamwork, organization and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
• Prep food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces).
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen team.
• Report to and follow instructions from the head chef or sous chef.
• Clean your station and properly handle leftover food.
• Stock inventory appropriately.
• Ensure food comes out together, at high quality and on time.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain a positive, professional approach with coworkers and guests.
• Shut down, clean and reset the kitchen at close.
